Green Mountain Timber Frames is thrilled to welcome Gary Lindorff to the Reuben Wait Barn on November 13 at 7:00 PM! Join us for an evening of poetry with local poet and author Gary Lindorff! Gary will be reading selected poems from his upcoming book, "Poems from Monhegan: the rock that grew a village".
At 73 years old, Gary Lindorff is a local writer and poet who has authored 5 non-fiction books, including a memoir, and 4 books of poetry. Alongside his literary works, he also manages a blog. While he has been writing poetry throughout his life, there were two significant events that reignited his passion for writing. In 1981, he penned and self-published "The Blue Man: poems for the late nuclear age", which struck a chord with a specific audience. This led to his role as the poetry editor for Baltimore's City Paper for 5 years and his involvement with the online journal "This Can't Be Happening.net" in 2015, providing him with a consistent readership and various platforms for his work. The internet played a pivotal role in expanding his reach. Gary views his poetry as a vital tool for processing his experiences during challenging times.
Join us as Gary shares selected poems from his upcoming book, "Poems from Monhegan: the rock that grew a village". The reading will be followed by time for questions and discussion.
This is a free event, but donations to the artist are welcome at the door. Tea, coffee, water and light snacks will be provided. BYO beer and wine. RSVP's are appreciated but not required by going to our website https://www.greenmountaintimberframes.com/event-details/poetry-reading-by-gary-lindorff
