At a Vets Town Hall, veterans are invited to speak for up to ten minutes each about what their service means to them. Non-veterans are encouraged to attend and listen. These events are free and nonpolitical, and all perspectives are valued.
This fall, there will be six Vets Town Halls in Vermont, in Brattleboro, Bristol, Colchester, Rutland, Saint Johnsbury, and South Royalton. Colchester is the closest to us, on Sunday, Nov. 10th at 1pm at McCarthy Arts Center on Saint Michael's College campus.
With Veterans Day approaching, these events are a great way to literally show up for our friends, family members, neighbors, and colleagues who are veterans.
Veterans who are interested in speaking can indicate that when registering, or get in touch at vermont@vetstownhall.org. Veterans are welcome to speak or simply attend, and (time permitting) can also sign up to speak at the event itself.
