Hello Everyone--The Wallingford Historical Society is back for the last speaker program for 2024. Please join us on Wednesday, November 13 at 1 PM on the second floor of the Town Hall at 75 School St. We have a unique program featuring Rita Brooks and Dick Kendall who will be speaking about the early days of the phone company in Wallingford when we had 4- party lines to share. Perhaps some of you have never experienced being on a party line, and the stories that came about from being on one.

Rita started working for the phone company when she was 13 years old. Dick and Rita have lots of facts and stories to tell and perhaps some of you can share your own experiences using a party line. Where was the phone company located? Did East Wallingford and South Wallingford have a phone company and where were they located? Does anyone know. This will be a fun program that everyone will thoroughly enjoy.
