Central Vermont Council on Aging and the Centennial Library are sponsoring a FREE Intermediate Yang 24 Tai Chi class for older Vermonters led by Marie La Pre Grabon, a certified Tai Chi Vermont Instructor, beginning Tuesday, November 5, at the Centennial Library Community Room (elevator accessible).
The class will run for 12 weeks, skipping December 24 and December 31 and finishing on February 4.This class is for people who have experience with Tai Chi and are familiar with the brush knee move.
Yang 24 Tai Chi is the most popular and widely practiced form of tai chi. This is the tai chi you see being done in parks all over the world. Often described as meditation in motion, Yang 24 features slow, continuous, soft and circular movements that give it a lovely flowing quality. Yang 24 is best for individuals who are comfortable with making repeated kicks, it challenges balance more than Falls Prevention Tai Chi. Tai Chi is proven to reduce falls and arthritis pain, increase muscular strength and decrease depression, anxiety and osteoporosis. It helps you improve your sleep and quality of life.
