At least 3 things are true about our current election: 1) the outcomes of the election will have significant impacts on many of our lives, especially those of us in marginalized groups, 2) electoral politics alone will not save us, 3) many of us are anxious and stressed.
You are invited to the Weybridge Congregational Church on election night, Tuesday Nov 5, for a time of centering and reflection. Our amazing musician, Kai Fukuda will play from 5.30 to 6, and then we will observe quiet contemplation from 6 to 6.30.
You are welcome to come for any amount of time. I (Rev. Caryne) will be there to open the space, give blessings, suggest meditation techniques, or leave you alone - whatever is most supportive.
*While we don't expect it to be an issue, we will not allow any hate speech or aggressive behavior. As a church, we cannot endorse specific candidates, so there will not be any announcements about or campaigning for candidates at this gathering.
