The Cabot Community Contra Dance will host TWO dances during the month of November, both held in the wonderful 3rd floor space in the Willey Building (Cabot Town Hall, 3084 Main St).
Our regular 2nd Friday dance on November 8 will feature the wonderful calling of Luke Donforth, a favorite of this dance community! Live music is provided by a fantastic group of local musicians--you can just come and listen if you like! The dance is 7-9:30pm; if you've never been to a contra, you are encouraged to arrive right at 7:00, as we will start with the simplest dances, and then we'll build upon what you learn throughout the evening.
And we will be holding another afternoon Family Dance on Saturday, November 2, from 3-5pm! This is for families who find evening dances too late for them, and anyone else who would enjoy some daytime frolicking with people of all ages! While all our events are family-friendly, this one will feature active dances especially well-suited to the youngest members of the community. Our teacher will be Erin Smith, who loves leading family dances, and we'll have the same great live music we enjoy for the 2nd Friday dances!
Everyone is welcome, and all dances are taught, and easily learned, even if you've never danced before! Admission is on a sliding scale, $5-10, or you can bring some finger-food refreshments to share at the break! Masks are welcomed but not required, and we'll have the windows open for ventilation.
