The City of Burlington, along with its South End Coordinated Redevelopment partners Champlain College and Ride Your Bike, LLC, are thrilled to invite you to our next community meeting on Wednesday, November 6th from 6 - 7:30 pm at Generator Makerspace (40 Sears Lane).
We last checked in over the summer and have a lot of new work to share. We look forward to sharing work and collecting feedback in an open house format on the following topics:
1. Interim activation strategies for the City's land at 68 Sears Lane - What would you like to see happening here over the next few years before development occurs?
2. Development concepts, including potential for housing, open space and community facilities at 68 Sears Lane - What are your long-term dreams for the City's property?
3. Mass Timber - What is this sustainable construction type and how can it help make SECORD a model for development across the country?
4. Infrastructure - What constraints does the project face and what innovative solutions are being explored to make the project a reality?
5. Streets and Open Spaces - How can we create a public realm that is accessible and car-light? What open space strategies are being explored?
6. Mobility Hubs - What are they and why are they vital to the goal of creating a car-light district rich in transportation alternatives?
We hope to see you on November 6th.
In the meantime, please reach out to Charles Dillard (cdillard@burlingtonvt.gov) or Zach Nersinger (znersinger@burlingtonvt.gov) at the City of Burlington if you have any questions or preliminary thoughts!
