It's that time of year again! The St. Johnsbury Players announce auditions for our annual staged reading of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," presented in the form of a live radio play by Ryan Neely and Art Gibson.
On a chilly winter's eve, a mysterious stranger stops at an inn to warm himself by the fire and promptly sets imaginations ablaze with a story of one miserly old man's selfishness, greed, regret, and ultimate redemption. The story-within-a-story framework is the perfect vehicle for telling of churlish Ebenezer Scrooge's journey of his past, present, and future. It's a dark path down which his unsatiated avarice will take him if he does not change his ways!
Auditions will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday, November 3, at the United Community Church in St. Johnsbury, and the performance will be presented on Saturday, December 14 as part of the St. J Sparkles festivities.
Rehearsals will take place November 10, 17, and 14 and December 8 and 13.
