What Does Data Sound Like?
We live by the numbers, so we are always looking for new ways to deliver, explain and tell the stories we can extrapolate from data. Music - yes, music - opens up a whole new world of possibilities! Just as we can visualize data by creating charts, lines and graphs, we can "sonify" data by transforming numbers into pitches, rhythms and sounds. How is a speadsheet turned into sound? And how does it sound? Come hear some sample pieces, including one LaRocca himself composed.
