New World Music Choral Group to Start Tuesday Dec. 2!

Past event
Dec 2, 2014, 7 to 9 PM

Just thought I would post this again.... and feel free to post this on other forums!
Citizens of Hardwick and beyond, have you ever wanted to sing traditional a cappella choral music from around the world? Have you wanted to have a local choral group with an incredible leader?

On Tuesday, December 2, John Harrison will lead an introductory world music sing from 7:00-9:00 at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, 39 West Church Street, in Hardwick. John will choose songs from South Africa, West Africa, Eastern Europe, France, Italy, the UK, as well as traditional American music. Songs will be sung in three and four parts, and all will be taught by rote using word sheets, so ability to read music is not required. There’s no audition, but singers should be able to accurately sing back what’s been sung to them, which is not really hard!. The fee for this introductory session is $15 ($10 if that's a hardship). We’ll sing for two hours, and then have some time to talk about whether or not to make it an ongoing sing. Children are welcome with an accompanying parent. John Harrison leads the Montpelier Community Gospel choir and has worked with Village Harmony for 16 years. I have had the privilege of singing with him numerous times at Village Harmony camps and single day workshops. You will laugh, learn, and you will really sing! He brings to his teaching a deep love of choral singing and its power to create community, as well as a lot of humor. For more information, contact John at info@johnmarkharrison.com or 802-778-0881. Do consider joining us on Dec 2 ! Please respond to John directly.
