Looking for a civics refresher in advance of the November 5th election? The Sharon Democratic Committee has organized three purely educational and non-partisan presentionations. No political party or candidates will be mentioned, discussed or promoted. All are welcome.
The second is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23rd on the subject of How bills get passed in Vermont. These presentations will be held at the Sharon Congregational Church's Steele Chapel, at the intersection of Route 132 and Route 14. Parking is available in the park-and-ride or across Route 132 at The Sharon Academy middle school. Informational handouts and refreshments will be available.
Wednesday, October 23 from 5:30 - 6;30 pm: How Bills Get Passed in Vermont - with Senator Dick McCormack, retiring after more than 30 years of public service and a former teacher of history and government. We will have copies to distribute of "This is What Democracy Looks Like", a graphic guide to governance published by the Center for Cartoon Studies.
Tuesday, October 29 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm: The Electoral College - with Andrew Lane, Head of School at The Sharon Academy Middle School, a former social studies teacher and history enthusiast.
