I can't recommend this concert enough! Come see live music at The Phoenix Gallery & Music Hall in Waterbury on Saturday evening from 7:30-8:30pm.
TURNmusic presents three brilliant musicians:
Rachael Elliott (bassoonist originally from Lyndon Vermont and one half of EK DUO)
Thomas Kozumplik (percussion/composer and the other half of EK Duo) and
Mary Rowell (violin, of Craftsbury Chamber Players/TURNmusic/Radio City Music Hall renown).
They'll be playing a bunch of new music drawn from their own arrangements of music by Padma Newsome, Thomas Kozumplik, Philip Glass, and others. The stage will be filled with an impressive array of instruments including a vibraphone, steel drum, kalimba, NBC chimes, and percussive skins complemented by bassoon, violin, voices, and electronic sampling and live processing. Expect the unexpected! From hummable tunes, to driving grooves, to ghostly electronic sounds, we'll traverse a spectrum of sound & meaning as we explore the outer reaches of this vast sonic palette.
