Featuring Bill Schmidt who will speak about Elysian Hills: Resilient Agricultural Innovation. There will be a look back to the 1800s and early 1900s when Elysian Hills was known as Knapp Farm. In the 1960's the farm transitioned to a horse farm known as Tamarlei Morgans. In the early 1970's, the farm's owner, Mary Lou, renamed the farm Elysian Hills and after her marriage to Bill, embarked in a new direction that featured production and marketing of the Gilfeather Turnip, Knapp rhubarb and Christmas Trees and greenery for which Elysian Hills is best known.
Program will be at Dummerston Historical Society Schoolhouse in Dummerston Center. Handicapped Accessible. Info: 802-254-9311
The Walk on Saturday will be at Elysian Hills located in East Dummerston off Tucker Reed Road. Jared Flynn, creator and builder of he Stone Trees and nearby Circular Cemetery will lead the walk and share his idea for the Stone Trees and how they were constructed. Parking will be at the entrance to Elysian Hills on Tucker Reed Road opposite the Farm sign. Questions: 802-257-0233
