J. Kevin Graffagnino will present a talk about Ira Allen, a land speculator,( including owning land in Moretown) revolutionary, pamphleteer, politician, and empire-builder in the late18th century Green Mountain frontier. Graffagnino will evaluate Allen's checkered career and make the case for including him in our picture of Vermont's formative decades.
