Writer and educator Kathleen Kesson will speak about her new book Becoming One With the World: A Guide to Neohumanist Education on at the Hardwick Community Center at 56 High Street. The book seeks to answer the questions: Is our current educational model providing young people with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to survive and thrive in an uncertain future? What is our deepest, most heartfelt hope for a compassionate human race, and how can education help manifest this hope? How can we reimagine education to be more just, more sustainable, and more joyful?
Kathleen Kesson is an Emeritus Professor, researcher, author, and consultant with expertise in curriculum theory, design and development, personalized learning, spirituality in education, arts in education, democratic schooling, unschooling, and teacher inquiry.
