Join us for a form of dance that is similar to contra dancing and square dancing, but with more variety in the movements, patterns, and (live!) music -- with a rich history that goes back to Queen Elizabeth I and Jane Austen. The dances are taught and walked-through, then prompted as you dance -- all instruction is non-gendered. Best suited for teens and adults with the ability to walk briskly.
Attend with or without a partner; we'll change partners throughout the evening. Casual, comfortable clothing; shoes with low heels (flip flops don't work!) Newcomers welcome - come for the lesson at 6:30pm.
Dancing to live music at 7pm with Susan Reid on violin, Dono Schabner on guitar, and Linda Young on harp. Teaching by Martha Kent and Barrett Grimm. $10-$15 sliding scale (pay what you can). Bring your own filled water bottle.
