SUNDAY SINGALONG
Enjoy an afternoon of community singing led by René Simakaski, fresh from his debut leading the Bradford Singalong Bringalong in September. Rene has selected an assortment of positive, uplifting songs to share.
Singing increases oxytocin levels (associated with empathy and happiness) and decreases cortisol (lowering stress). It can also rapidly result in feelings of connection and flow – improving our mood, strengthening sense of identity and helping out long and short-term memory.
René is a 13-year-old homeschooled Vermonter who loves all kinds of music. He started composing four years ago and has completed five solo instrumental works.

BREATH AS MEDICINE with Kalanani Gallas
This five week course is designed for those who have challenging health conditions such as Long Covid, anxiety and/or depression, digestive disorders, sleep difficulties, chronic pain and joint inflammation, and for those who would like to explore the science and practice of healthy breathing to improve their overall wellbeing. It will emphasize the key role the diaphragm plays in effective breathing and the health of all our body systems, and give participants a toolkit to build better health and resilience. Each session builds on the last, and will be accompanied by home practice guidelines and resources for more reading. Because Kalanani is a yoga teacher, the course will draw from yoga practices, but will also incorporate current scientific research. Prior yoga experience is not necessary. This 5 week course is offered at no cost.
