Books! Books! Books! Pancakes! The Friends of the Castleton Free Library are having a Book Sale (and free pancakes until 2:00) on Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM; the book sale will continue on Sunday, October 20 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. It will be inside the Castleton Recreation Center (the old Castleton Village School). There will be free refreshments for your enjoyment until 2:00 pm on Saturday. The refreshments will be pumpkin pancakes, fresh apples, apple juice, and hot coffee. Please come and find some "new to you" books. These books are all in amazing condition. You will not be disappointed! The recommended donation is at least a $1 per book, but you may give more if you'd like. The Friends of the Castleton Free Library uses the donations that they receive to fund things at the library like museum passes, Kanopy, audiobooks, The Rutland Herald subscription, and some children's programming. The money is also used to host Science Pubs during the winter months. The group has been a registered 501C3 organization since 2015. They are always hoping for more members so please ask about joining when you come to the book sale. The address of the Recreation Center is 47 Mechanic Street in Castleton, VT. Look for the signs.
