Mollie McElroy and I are very excited to announce a Samhain Supper event to be held at the Montpelier Unitarian Church, in The Vestige on November 1st. The gathering is to start at 5 PM. Please bring a dish to pass and if you would like, bring a picture or memento from a beloved dead to place on the Ancestor's Altar. This will be an event to talk about Ancestral practices and Grieving practices and a safe space to discuss death and dying. The evening will start with a brief introduction to each and then an invitation for a 15-minute silent "Dumb Supper" experience with appetizers provided. The "Dumb Supper" is a silent meal that is observed in some traditions as an invitation to the beloved dead to dine with the living. Then dinner will commence with an invitation for discussions. Please register at the link provided so that we have an idea of a head count. It will be by donation if you can, and if you can't please feel welcome to attend anyway. The donations cover the cost of the event space and the rest will go to the Unitarian church. Please register at the link below.
