It is well known that some fungi are decomposers, but did you know that they can also eat plastic, clean up oil spills, hunt for prey, and enable trees to talk to each other? Did you know that the largest living organism on earth is Oregon's "humongous fungus", covering an estimated 4 square miles?
If you're fungi-curious and want to know more, join Vermont author, photographer, and mycology educator, Meg Madden on a mushroom curiosity walk at the beautiful and biologically diverse Green Mountain Audubon Center in Huntington VT. We will explore the woods and talk about the mushrooms we find along the way including what they are and how to identify them, along with lots of interesting facts about these fascinating and enigmatic organisms.
There are a few spots left for this event. Pre-registration is required and SPACE IS LIMITED.
