This Friday, October 11th, is the 2nd annual Celebration of Indigenous Peoples & Culture at the Hardwick Farmers Market! (It's also our last market for the season!)
In addition to the regular market, we'll be partnering with some local indigenous leaders to increase awareness, share knowledge and celebrate the history of this place & it's original people.
Below are a few things to expect throughout the day:
3:00pm - A land acknowledgement.
3:30pm-4:30pm: Make your own 'power pouch' activity!
4:30pm - Storytelling; Lucy Cannon Neel reads from 'The Water Protectors.'
3:00pm-6:00pm - The Three Sisters (corn, beans, and squash) demonstration table.
3:00pm - 6:00pm: Free samples/tasting of Succotash (a traditional North American vegetable dish.)
3:00pm - 6:00pm: Kids activity tent with 'Abenaki Animals' coloring books.
There might be some other surprises in store too so we hope you'll join us!
Thank you!
