BRAVER ANGELS (https://braverangels.org/) is a cross-partisan, volunteer-led, national group working to bridge the partisan divide for the good of our democratic republic. Learn more about the Braver Angels's history and approach at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIxXAsubQt4 (10 min).
Also, we're holding a Citizens' Climate Lobby & Braver Angels Action Team Fall Quarterly Online Meeting
Date: Wednesday, October 16 -- 5 pm EST – via Zoom
We have a treat for our upcoming meeting. Maryanne Colter, a Braver Angels moderator, will be leading us in a session on using Braver Angels listening and speaking skills to talk with your "Uncle Fred" and others at pre-election events, holiday dinners, football games, or other family gatherings.
Maryanne is a self-proclaimed political junkie and environmental advocate and is semi-retired after 30+ years in consulting as a Change Manager, Project Manager, and Team-Effectiveness Facilitator. She brings these skills and passions together as a Braver Angels volunteer since 2019 and part of the Braver Angels / Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) collaboration since 2020. She has moderated over 20 Braver Angels workshops, including for CCL, and was a contributor to a paper for The Journal of Climate Change and Health on the effectiveness of the workshops on the development of climate advocacy skills: "Bridging the Divide on Climate Solutions: Development, Implementation, and Evaluation of an Online Workshop for Climate Volunteers". Link to paper is HERE.
All are welcome! Prior to the meeting, be thinking of a relative who differs with you on climate change or climate change solutions so you can "practice" skills with this person in mind.
