Hi everyone, I'm delighted to recommend a concert by my colleague from the UVM Music Program, pianist Dr. David Feurzeig, next Sunday, Oct. 13th at 4 PM at Huntington's Sleepy Hollow Inn. I've enjoyed David's playing for many years, and have always found his concerts inspiring. His current project, a series of concerts called Play Every Town, is a fascinating celebration of connections between Vermont history and music history, as well as of the deep well of musical talent in Vermont communities.

In May 2022, pianist David Feurzeig embarked on www.PlayEveryTown.com: 252 FREE piano concerts in each of Vermont's 252 towns, to call attention to the climate crisis and call into question the normality of long-distance touring, while celebrating Vermont's community life through music.

On Sunday Oct. 13 at 4 pm, Sleepy Hollow Inn/Ski/Bike/Barn in Huntington will host concert no. 67. Blues for Breakfast's Charlie Frazier will join David on blues harp for a tune or two. David will play music by the child Mozart from 1763, the year Huntington was chartered, and from 1786, when the first recorded settler arrived. The program will include bird-themed pieces in recognition of the Birds of Vermont Museum and its founder Bob Spear, as well as Clarence Woods' 1918 "Sleepy Hollow Rag" in honor of the hosting venue. A variety of ragtime and stride classics will round out the program.

Admission is FREE, with voluntary donations accepted for Huntington Farm Aid for Flood Relief to support Huntington farmers hit by July's historic flooding.
