Hi folks — you may have seen the FPF posts about all the great events going on in Hubbard Park in the next few weeks. New rules about dog leashing have gone into effect, and these walks, workshops, and playgroups are a great way to get to know the park better, learn new things, and build community.
I'll be leading a walk this Saturday, 3-5 pm, called Skill Up Your Dog. We'll spend some time workshopping off-leash skills like recall, proper poop management, and polite greetings, then we'll explore an easy 1.4-mile loop on the northern (off-leash) trails and practice skills with our dogs together.
Nonreactive dogs are welcome to attend, though people without dogs are welcome as well (perhaps your dog doesn't do so well in groups but you want to pick up some tips anyway, or maybe your ideal Saturday afternoon simply involves strolling with lot of cute dogs in the woods). Dogs must have an up-to-date rabies shot as per the Canine Code of Conduct.
Meet at the Dog Field (https://maps.app.goo.gl/eFAKy2KNJWiKxyH2A) at 3 pm. If you bring your dog, please also bring a leash and lots of treats.
