Celebrate Wildlife at Dead Creek Day
This Saturday, October 5th, Join Vermont Fish & Wildlife, VT Department of Forests Parks and Recreation, Otter Creek Audubon Society, and other partners for a Saturday full of fun wildlife-focused festivities at the Dead Creek WMA in Addison, VT! Observe live critters, learn about bat habitat on a nature walk, watch a demonstration of Newt the turtle-finding dog, or peruse the displays about conservation, wildlife, and ecology while eating delicious food and warm beverages. Build your own bluebird box or carve your own soap to bring home. Stop by the Visitor Center to do an indoor or outdoor scavenger hunt and enter kids' names in a raffle for a pair of binoculars or an LED Microscope. Events are free and open to the public from 7am until 4pm, with a shuttle to provide transportation around the area. The Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area is located at 966 VT Route 17. For more information and a schedule of events visit the Vermont Fish & Wildlife website and check under Watch Wildlife.
