One way we make meaning is to create space to mark the losses in our lives. The wider community is invited to attend the upcoming Service of Loss and Remembrance on Wednesday, October 30 at 7pm at the First Unitarian Universalist Society Burlington (the church at the top of Church Street). As the seasons change and the nights become longer, it is good to set aside time and intention to mark losses we have experienced and to give space and shape to our grief, individually and collectively. Music, poetry, stillness, ritual are the heart of this non-dogmatic service open to the public, marking many kinds of losses and grief we are experiencing at this time - including ringing a chime for each overdose death this year, our personal grief, and our grief for the world. Participants are invited to bring a photo of a loved one you have lost to display as part of the service.
