Ward 1 NPA Oct. 9

Hi All,

Come celebrate, albeit belatedly, the arrival of Fall with your neighbors at the Ward 1 NPA next week, 10/9 at 6:30 (come early for great food courtesy of Selene Colburn!) We meet, as always, at the Friends Meeting House, 173 North Prospect Street. This month we are focusing on the November ballot items and on the latest work on the Neighborhood Code. You can find the short form of the ballot questions here:

But first, Emer Feeney, Fletcher Free Library's Assistant Director, will come to give an update on library goings on, and hear what you have to say.

We have asked our City Councilors, Tim and Carter, to talk about the Police Oversight Charter Change, along with anything else they want to discuss. And Darren Springer of the Burlington Electric Company will talk about the BED bond question on the ballot.

The Neighborhood Code is back, closing up on the second structures details that were postponed from the last go round. City Planner Charles Dillard and Planning Commissioner Erhard Mahnke will come to provide some context and history. Our City Councilors should also chime in with their views. There will be a public forum on this at the end of the month. The NPA meeting should help us get in tune at a more local level.

Some background on the Neighborhood Code can be found on the City site; https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/294/BTV-Neighborhood-Code

See you next week!

Jonathan
