The Morristown Conservation Commission will hold a work session on the town forest on Saturday October 5 starting at 9:00 AM and ending around noon. Meet at the Bryan Pond Road parking lot. Goal is to finish clearing and marking the new North East trail. Great progress was made last week with a small but robust crew and one loop of the trail was cleared to the NE corner of the forest. Goal is to clear the other loop and finish putting up the yellow trail markers. Time permitting weed whacking and brushing is needed at the junction of the Sulham Farmstead and Upper Loop trails which is near the start of the NE Trail.
Tools needed are one chainsaw, weedwhackers, clippers, hand saws. For latecomers please go thru the gate and follow the road until you see the Town forest sign as you enter the forest. NE trail head is on the right. Come up the new trail until you find us. The MCC thanks its members and volunteers for the splendid work done on the town forest trails. New volunteers are always welcome as are kids and dogs!
