Hi neighbors! The first class in my upcoming herbal medicine making series is coming up, check it out:
Tincture Making 101: Learn to make your own potent herbal extracts with fresh or dried herbs
10/13, 10am-12pm at the beautiful Red Wagon Plants in Hinesburg
If you've ever reached for a bottle of Echinacea to fight off illness, or added bitters to a cocktail, you've experienced the magic of a tincture! Tinctures are alcohol-based extracts that make taking herbal medicine easy, reliable and shelf-stable. And with a little guidance, you can fearlessly make your own tinctures with garden-grown herbs and simple kitchen equipment.
In this class we will cover both the "folk" and "mathematical" methods for tincturing plants, and demystify the process so that you can easily fill your kitchen with homemade medicine. Students will leave with freshly made tinctures to press at home.
This class is Part 1 of the "Winter Ready Herbalism" series this fall, hosted by Sophie Cassel of Patchwork Plant Medicine. Sliding scale $25-$50 per class, discount available if attending all 4 classes. Learn more and register at patchworkplantmedicine.com/events .
