Lewis Creek Association 2024 Party! Oct. 6

A celebration of the Lewis Creek Watershed and the lives and work of Marty Illick and Terry Dinnan in partnership with Vermont Master Naturalist. Free and open to the public.

Join friends and neighbors for an afternoon of activities in, by and near Lewis Creek. Starting at 11:30 until 1:00 there will be lunch, snacks and stories to share about the Lewis Creek Watershed and remembering Marty Illick and Terry Dinnan.

From 1:00 to 3:30 there is the opportunity to:
- Visit the gravel pit near by to learn about the Geology with Craig Heindel
- Wade in the creek to discover the wildlife living under and in the water, gravel and stones with Declan McCabe
- Discover the gorge on States Prison Hollow Rd with Elsa Gilbertson and learn about the many mills that powered the first industries in Starksboro.

For young kids there will be crafts including building beaver habitat, exploring the natural treasures of the fields and creek.

In the morning (9-11 AM), Vermont Master Naturalists will lead several field trips to explore the watershed from Mountains to the Mouth and Bedrock to Birds. Registration required - sign up at www.lewiscreek.org
