Celebrate the beauty of autumn at Mad River Glen's Green & Gold Weekend this Saturday, October 5th! Immerse yourself in vibrant fall colors with a scenic, single-chair lift ride up Stark Mountain and enjoy a day of fun, family-friendly activities sponsored by Stark Mountain Foundation.
Start with an interactive geology session hosted by Greg Walsh of the U.S. Geological Survey, where you'll explore the forces that shaped Stark Mountain. This hands-on experience is both engaging and educational—perfect for families! The session runs from 1:00 to 1:45 pm on the 3rd floor of the MRG Basebox/lodge.
New Geology Signs: 2:00-4:00 pm. Guided by Vermont Master Naturalists, walk to see the new interpretive signs along one of MRG's snowshoe trails. Created by the 23-24 Mad River Valley, Vermont Master Naturalist participants and sponsored by Stark Mountain Foundation, these signs will enhance your exploration of Stark Mountain. Meet at the SMF tent in front of the Basebox/MRG Lodge.
Nature enthusiasts won't want to miss the guided hike from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. Led by a local expert, this adventure highlights diverse flora, including wildflowers like the Whorled Wood Aster and Blue Chicory. Explore scenic trails and uncover the wonders of nature up close!
Don't miss out—join us at Mad River Glen and celebrate the magic of fall! Both activities are free with pre-registration. See the links below.
