St. Johnsbury Players announce auditions for a staged reading of War of the Worlds.

Auditions will be Sunday, September 29 at 2 pm at United Community Church, UCC, 1325 Main Street, St. J.

Rehearsals will be Sunday October 6th and 13th with the performance on October 20th at 2pm at United Community Church, UCC.

The show will be directed by Ursula Malabre-Speicher.

The 1938 radio adaptation of The War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells was a 60-minute Halloween episode of the radio series The Mercury Theatre on the Air. The episode was directed and narrated by Orson Welles and broadcast live on CBS Radio on October 30, 1938. The episode is known for causing panic among some listeners who believed a Martian invasion was happening.
