Diane Reilly, Hyde Park Elementary School Principal, sent me a lovely email. She asked if there was a homeschooling group that met regularly, and offered to meet with Hyde Park homeschooling parents to discuss ways that the school can be more accommodating. I initially emailed the Lamoille Homeschoolers group to ask if there were any other Hyde Park families who would be interested in participating in a meeting. A handful of people responded, but I feel like maybe the Lamoille Homeschoolers group doesn't reach all Hyde Park homeschoolers. So, my hope is that this Front Porch Forum post will do that. My hopes are that we can we can establish and maintain open dialogue, have our children participate in specials, and utilize the school as a resource. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Lanpher Library in the meeting space upstairs. (Thank you, Amy Olsen, for allowing us to use the space.) If any other homeschoolers are interested in attending, please send me an email so I can make sure to have enough chairs set up.
