Join WRWA for a walk in the woods on the topic of "Vermont's Ash: the use, management and preservation of this threatened species." Local licensed forester and tree enthusiast Dan Healey will be leading a conversation about Vermont's threatened ash trees in his neighborhood in Dummerston, Vermont. Dan will cover important topics around the threats to our ash species, the current state of conservation efforts and best management practices, as well as giving a demonstration of processing black ash he has collected for basketry.
Gather at 10:00 am on Saturday, Oct 5 at 707 Rice Farm Road in Dummerston. (If there is heavy rain, we'll meet on Sunday instead.) Bring a seat if you like, plus footwear for a moderate walk in the woods. This meeting will also serve as the Annual Meeting of the Windham Regional Woodlands Association. The official business will only take five minutes or so. The entire program will be over by lunchtime.
