A new walking group, Walk with Ease, is starting on Sept. 23 at the Waterbury State Office Complex (main entrance, which is around the back of the building). It will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:30 am for 5 weeks. Trained volunteer Christy Evans will lead the group. You can sign up at https://tiny.cc/cvcoawellness or arrive 10 minutes early to complete registration forms. Everyone will sign a release form onsite.
All sessions will begin in the beautiful indoor atrium with a guided warm up and stretch, then a 15 to 30 minute walk outside, then back indoors for a brief cool down, gentle stretch and meditation.
Walk with Ease is an evidence-based program to improve health and well-being. It helps you to make walking a more formal lifestyle and helps you along the way! Participants agree to meet for group walks and to walk on their own for a total of three times per week.
Each week includes a brief talk examining some aspect of walking, joint health and fitness and participants receive instruction in proper breathing, stretching and walking. Participants receive a handbook with helpful information and space to track their progress.
Walk with Ease offers a great way to catch up with friends or meet new people, to stay healthy and make lifestyle improvements. It will meet rain or shine, with more time indoors if it's raining.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.
Best,
Anne
