Norwich University will host renowned Macedonia jazz guitarist Vladimir Četkar in a free concert on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Currently recording an album in New York City, Četkar is touring the U.S., including stops at the Blue Note in Manhattan and other top venues. His performance at Norwich takes place in Dole Auditorium, Webb Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m.
A celebrated guitarist, vocalist, arranger and composer, Četkar evokes the soul, jazz, disco and pop sounds of the 1970s and 80s. According to his official bio: “With his passion, energy and diverse musical persona, Vladimir Četkar's hallmark is his ability to seamlessly combine his many talents … [in] the highest order.”
Norwich University has a long-standing relationship with Četkar's home country of Macedonia in student and academic exchanges. In its continued goal of internationalization, Norwich is bringing Četkar to campus to perform as a cultural exchange.
