Long Trail Day, held this year on Saturday, Sept. 21, is the Green Mountain Club's (GMC) annual community fundraiser and celebration of all things hiking.
Once again, our local section's team, the BREAD LOAF LOAFERS, is raising funds to support the GMC's efforts to restore & protect our trails. Our goal is to raise $2720, which represents $10 for every mile of the Long Trail. Details about joining a hike and a link to donate online are at this link: https://www.gmcbreadloaf.org/news/long-trail-day
For those who want to join a Long Trail hike on Sept. 21, our leaders have listed four different group hikes and will be celebrating afterward at a local Middlebury brewery. Look for Sept 21st hikes on our event calendar at this link: https://www.gmcbreadloaf.org/calendar
If you prefer to mail a check, please make it payable to Green Mountain Club and write in the memo line: "LT Day Bread Loaf Loafers" and mail it to: Green Mountain Club, 4711 Waterbury Stowe Road, Waterbury Center, VT 05677. Donations will be accepted until October 7th.
We are proud to help the Green Mountain Club maintain the trail system and appreciate all the work of GMC. The Bread Loaf Section maintains the Long Trail from Sucker Brook Shelter to Emily Proctor Lean-to with our volunteer trail crew and the help of many individual maintainers.
Thank you for supporting Vermont's trails!
