Practicing Democracy: Women in Public Office
Come join Gov Howard Dean to learn about the many ways you can make a difference.
Sunday Evening, 4:30 – 6:00 at CVUUS This is a free community event, open to people of all political persuasions. Space is limited so please register by sending a note to ECLPinc@gmail.com. With RSVP 9/29 in the subject line.
There are many ways we can meet our civic responsibilities. Come be inspired by Gov Howard Dean, Esther Charlestin, Co-chair of the VT Commission on Women, and Addie Lentzner, a totally engaged College student. After their presentations you will have a chance to interact with them one-on-one, and learn directly from local experts about ways to engage voters and amplify our own voices.
Have you ever wondered about the efficacy of: Writing postcards? Sending letters? Holding house parties? Registering new voters? Calling people on the phone? Running for local offices? Signing up with a national organization? Whether you consider yourself an Independent, Republican, Democrat, Progressive, or person ambivalent about politics, there will be opportunities for you to share your ideas with others and learn from them.
The event is sponsored by the Early Care and Learning Partnership, a non-partisan, nonprofit organization whose goal is to promote the well-being of all young children and their families. While the event is designed for adults, children are more than welcome to join.
This free community forum will be held at the CVUUS, on Sunday, September 29, from 4:30 – 6:00. For more information and to register, send a note to: ECLPinc@gmail.com.
