Tea Workshop for Teens Dec. 10

Past event
Dec 10, 2014, 6:45 PM

SAVE THE DATE: On December 10th at 6:45 pm the Warren Library will host a workshop for teens on the fine art of tea-tasting and making tea sachets. In this workshop teens will learn about and taste teas made from local herbs that improve winter health.

Workshop participants will make custom tea sachets that may be given away as Christmas gifts to friends and family. There is no charge to attend the workshop but teens will be charged for the bulk tea used (no more than $2.00 to $2.50 per sachet made). Wrapping paper to wrap the sachets will be available free of charge.

Heidi Laliberte of Waitsfield’s Tiny Tea House will lead the class. Heidi has been an herbalist and plant ecologist for thirty years, teaching about and formulating herbal remedies. She also founded Vineyard Sound Herbs in 1987 on Martha’s Vineyard, which grew into the Island Herbal Center, which sold potted herbs and fresh, dried herbs for teas, crafts, and oils. Since 2005 she has been operating Waitsfield’s Tiny Tea House, for tea-tasting and personal herbal profiles, (by appointment only).

The library workshop on December 10th is limited to thirty participants and pre-registration is necessary. If interested, please contact Colleen Mays (teenservices@warrenlibrary.com).
