*A great show for a great cause!*
By now you've surely heard about The (Great) All-Middlesex Variety Show *to benefit flood relief and resilience for our community, *coming your way on Saturday, November 9, 7-9:30 PM at Rumney School. Our inspiration for this event is to bring together the Middlesex community, in the spirit of fun and quality entertainment, to strengthen our connections with one another in a playful and inclusive evening. The money raised from this event will benefit flood relief in Middlesex. We are looking for folks to share music, comedy, dance, poetry, juggling, skits, storytelling, magic…you get the picture?
Here's how YOU can be a part of the show:
Do you have a talent to share with your neighbors for 3-5 minutes or less?
What do we mean by "talent?" Well, it's called a Variety Show for a reason. Do you have a great story to tell or a poem to share? A juggling act or a magician's sleight of hand? A song to play or sing? Are you an actor? A dancer? We are seeking different talents and tales which could be performed live or filmed. (How to get out of a snowbank, build a culvert, ID animal tracks, funny Middlesex neighborhood stories, mud season stories, bear stories…) Why 3-5 minutes? We'd like to showcase as many of our neighbors' talents as we can!
There are only two simple requirements:
1. Does at least one member of your "act" have a connection to Middlesex or Rumney School?
2. Are you age 12 to 102?
Submit a description of your 3-5 minute act, the participants' names and connection to Middlesex or Rumney School. (Remember, at least one member of your act needs a town/school connection, and members must be at least 12 years old or have reached 7th grade.)

A committee of your Middlesex neighbors will review the submissions and organize a fantastic show FOR our community BY our community! We will accept as many acts as there is time for and will let all participants know whether there is room on the roster for your act. We are striving for a variety of types of acts and ages of participants. Those two factors may be used to select acts in the event that we have too many to fit in that evening. So dust off your tap shoes, tune those instruments, brush up on that monologue, talk to your friends and neighbors and let's put together a community event to support Middlesex flood recovery and resilience!
