Lullabies and Family-Made Art at The Highland Center!

Sep 28, 2024, 4 to 6 PM

Dear friends and neighbors,

I'm excited to be able to share these gorgeous and joyful events put on by the Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, where I work.

Check them out - you won't be sorry! (...and let me know if you need a ride - I'd love to help anyone get to the Lullaby Concert on Sept 28th. This is life-giving and life-changing music that will fill your cup to overflowing.)

The Vermont Network (https://www.vtnetwork.org/) invites you to join us as we celebrate our
Healing Together Project at the Highland Center for the Arts (https://highlandartsvt.org/) in Greensboro with two enchanting events this month. Both are free and open to all.

Lullaby Project Celebration Concert
Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 4:00 pm

Come hear Scrag Mountain Music including Evan Premo, Marianne Donahue Perchlik, David Ruffin, and Ira Friedman and special guests perform new lullabies and songs of love and connection from this year's Lullaby Project. These songs were created in our community through Healing Together's partnership with Scrag Mountain Music and Writers for Recovery, Umbrella, Inc., Voices Against Violence, Outright Vermont, Kids-A-Part (a program of LUND), and DIVAS (a program of the Vermont Network supporting incarcerated survivors of sexual harm and domestic violence).

The Healing Together Art Show
Running September 25 - October 6, 2024
The Gallery at Highland is open Wednesday - Sunday, noon - 4pm

The Healing Together Art Show features four years of art and music created by children, parents, staff, and partners of the Vermont Network's Healing Together Project. The project works with a diversity of collaborative partners to support connection and healing for families experiencing domestic violence, incarceration, substance use, recovery, and trauma through expressive arts, music, and play. Journey through lanterns and stones, stories of seasons, equity, love, hope, and connection. Listen to lullabies and behold photographs expressing joy and bravery. Create your own art on site to add to the Heart of Our Community installation! To get the full experience, bring your phone and ear buds to access QR codes to audios.

The art show runs from September 25 - October 6 with reception following the 4pm Lullaby Concert on September 28.
