The Kitzmiller/Rotary Coat Drive will be held once again on Saturday, Oct. 26, in City Hall from 9-1. Over 300 donated coats will get new owners that day at the annual event hosted by the Montpelier Rotary Club. We are working in partnership with Community National Bank, as in the past.
Please drop off your coats, mittens, and hats to be donated in the bins at Community National Bank on State St. in Montpelier.
Karen and then Warren Kitzmiller started the coat exchange over thirty years ago and ran it with great success until 2018 when declining health led them to ask Montpelier Rotary Club for assistance. Since that time, through partnership with Community National Bank, we have helped keep Central Vermont warm. In addition to the donated garments people in Montpelier and neighboring communities bring in, Montpelier Rotary Club supplements the one day drive with coats purchased locally and delivered to high needs populations, especially to children.
The Montpelier Rotary Club works to create lasting change by enhancing food and warmth security, fostering educational and cross-cultural exchanges, and developing future community leaders, while upholding our values of fellowship, integrity, and a commitment to Service Above Self.
