For those interested in the Northfield Conservation Commission hike on Paine mountain this weekend: Meet at the Green Mountain Family Practice around 9:50 and plan to begin hiking around 10:00. We will be hiking to the Beaver Pond and return via a sl.ate quarry and the Anchor atop on the old Norwich ski area. Bring water, a light lunch and possibly some bug dope. A beginner to intermediate hike for a little less than 4 miles. A good introduction to hiking or biking on the Town Forest and Shaw Center trails
