Harold Lloyd was the bespectacled boy next door whose road to success was often paved with perilous detours. The film, shot on location in New York City, will be shown on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7:00 pm in the Brandon Town Hall. "Speedy" was Lloyd's final silent feature before the transition to talkies, we find Harold as a baseball-crazed youth who must rescue the city's last horse-drawn streetcar from gangsters bent on running it out of business. Filmed almost entirely in New York, "Speedy" features remarkable glimpses of the city at the end of the 1920's including footage of Coney Island and the original Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The latter scenes include an extended appearance by Babe Ruth, then at the height of his career.

The hall is air conditioned, handicap accessible with our new concession area and great popcorn!!! This is a free will donation event with all monies put right back into the repair and restoration of this great building. Don't miss this Silent Movie, we only have two more left for this season.
