Vermont Forest Cemetery, an alternative burial ground

Vermont Forest Cemetery is 56 acres of upland mixed-hardwood forest located in the geographic center of Vermont, on the flanks of the third range of the Green Mountains. This cemetery offers a place for people to gather, to honor their dead and the forest, and to participate in outdoor art and learning.

Transition Town Jericho is hosting representatives from Vermont Forest Cemetery to come and present their documentary From Earth to Earth and answering questions about natural burial. Vermont Forest Cemetery is the first and only natural burial site in Vermont, During the meeting, plans will be made to visit the forest in Roxbury, so that you can get a first hand experience of this unique site.

The presentation is Monday, September 23rd at 6pm at the Jericho Community Center meeting room.
