Cate Cemetery Tour September 16

Join the Calais and East Montpelier Historical Societies on Monday, September 16 at 5:00 p.m. for a tour of the Cate Cemetery, adjacent to the Cate Farm off Rte. 2 or Rte. 14 where parking is readily available next to the cemetery. From the intersection of Rte 14 and Rte 2 in East Montpelier, take Rte 2 driving by Fox Market, and turn left on Coburn Road.

Paul Cate and Andy Christiansen will share stories of relatives and others buried in the cemetery. Following the field trip, a potluck supper will be held at the Old Brick Church in East Montpelier Village along with a sharing of artifacts recently donated that show life many years ago in North Montpelier. An oven is available if your dish needs warming up. Please bring your own place setting. Beverages will be provided. The meeting is free and open to the public. Access to the cemetery is quite level and easy from the parking lot.
