PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO JOIN THE VUES COMMUNITY GROUP & THE VERGENNES RECREATION COMMITTEE ON SATURDAY September 14th, 2024 from 8:00am-NOON.
Goal for Saturday VUES/VUMHS Outdoor Classroom Clean-up. There are 2 large jobs needed this day and we hope we can get several volunteers:
Clearing Trails: The trails have overgrown and we need help cutting back grass, branches, burdocks etc... If you have a weed wacker or pair of clippers please bring them. WE NEED AS MANY WEED WACKERS AS POSSIBLE. The bridges are nearly impassable. Please come early with weedwackers.
Bridge Repair: The two bridges have shifted and need to be moved and more stable. If you have a pair of tall muck boots and a strong back we need your help moving sections.
Volunteers: please wear long pants and a pair of gloves for safety, but several tools are also needed. If you can bring any of the following items we would appreciate it: Rakes, Handsaws, Weed Wackers, & Clippers. Thanks, we hope to see you out there!
Robyn Newton and I will be there to help get everyone going. With the new New Haven Road connector, we'll have a great set of trails for the kids and the community.
If we can get those things done, then that will go a long way to making the outdoor classroom more user friendly to teachers and students and really the entire community.
