Please mark your calendar for the Chelsea Pollinator Garden project starting on Tuesday, October 8th at 9:00 a.m. We will be planting fruit trees and flowering shrubs at 12 Maple Avenue. This is the former Babcock/Lyons property now owned by the Town. This grant funded project is being organized by the town's Forest and Parks Commission and we need your help to transform this empty lot into a vibrant, pollinator-friendly, community space. We will be digging holes, spreading mulch, planting spring bulbs, and planting trees and shrubs with the help of area school children. If you have tools such as shovels, digging bars, rakes, water buckets and gloves please bring them along. We will begin work on the 8th, but work will continue on the Thursday the 10th, and if necessary, will finish with tiding up the place and more watering on Saturday the 12th. If you can spare just an hour or two you are most welcome or if you want to just come and cheer us on there will be lawn chairs for spectators. If you have questions or want to sign up in advance send an email or give me a call. 685-3146 Susan Elder.
