Hello all you wonderful people! I have been missing my connection to the community that I used to get on a regular basis at the community lunch.
During my years of involvement with the lunch, many people in the community said they'd love to attend but they had to work during the day on Wednesdays. I now find myself in the same boat, either needing to work on Wednesdays or taking care of grandbabies, who nap during that time.
I have been aware that folks in Maple Corner have been doing a monthly potluck at the community center for years. That got me thinking, why not do that here in Worcester? An evening gathering, rather than in the day, would make it accessible to more people. Everyone I've mentioned the idea to has been enthusiastic so I have reserved some dates for the Town hall!
The first community potluck will be Oct 4th, the first Friday in October, start time 5:30. November's date is still to be decided,( perhaps the Friday after Thanksgiving? Everyone can bring leftovers!) After that, I'm hoping to settle on the 2nd Friday of every month.
To anchor the meal, I will make a big pot of soup and there will be good bread. The rest will be whatever people bring. We want this accessible to everyone so if it is difficult to bring a contribution, don't worry, and please let others know as well.
I'm very excited about this and welcome any suggestions and ideas and offers of help, to make this a success Spread the word!
