Civilian Conservation Corps
A government program that provided jobs for young men during the Great Depression. The CCC was a key part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal. The program ran from 1933 to 1942, and involved manual labor jobs on public lands, forests, and parks. The CCC is considered a major conservation program in American history, and its work helped develop the principles of modern conservation.
